100 Amazing Images from the Mara: The 2016 Guest Edition

Andrew Beck All Authors, Andrew, great migration 9 Comments

It is hard to believe that yet another great migration season has come and gone.

We are truly proud of the product that we have been able to create in Kenya and believe that our authentic mobile camp, the location we have right on the bank of the Mara river and our amazing staff all play a part in creating one of the very best value for money safari experiences.  Many operators promise unlimited time in the field, best locations and no hidden costs but we actually deliver and the guest feedback we have been receiving attests to this.

Whilst the “100 Amazing Images from the Mara” posts in the past have shared images from our team of guides in 20132014 and 2015, we have finally been able to get our guests to submit their own images to make up the first of our annual “100 Amazing images from the Mara : The Guest Edition”.

We will continue our tradition of sharing the 100 images from our team of guides but for now, here are 100 amazing images from our guests  captured during our 2016 Great Migration Safaris.

Africa in itself holds its own beauty. No words can describe waking up and hearing the call of nature, an African sunset or sunrise and of course the wildlife that surrounds you. Growing up in South Africa I have the spirit embedded in me and what amazes me the most is how Wild Eye Safari’s bring their own uniqueness of Africa that unfold with every game drive.

I call myself South African, the more safaris I do with Wild Eye, the more African I truly become. Each adventure brings a new memory and mindset. The patience of each guide, sharing their incredible stories and always going above and beyond to allow you to experience the same stories of nature that they hold dear.

As a photographer you never stop learning, the great advice, tips and never ending support from Wild Eye to ensure you capture the best possible image and more so, push you further to new creative levels. The incredible service from booking your trip, the comfortable camp sites that hold you right in the middle of Africa, allowing you the full experience of living in the bush, showering at night and looking up at the stars yet with small touches ensuring your comfortably, as having a hot water bottle at night, tucked in your bed to keep you warm.

Nothing can compare to a Safari with Wild Eye! You cannot put a price on the experience you share whilst exploring nature with this company and the friends you make along the way, including the growth you achieve as an artist.

While it’s a pleasure to see one’s own images in the 2016 Guest Edition, it’s even more rewarding to discover how beautifully and dramatically my traveling companions Cathy, Mike, Jerry, Silke, Janet, Lidia and Wolf captured the experience and to glimpse the sightings of those who came before and after . Servals being one of my [many] personal favorites, seeing it captured so often and so well made me a little giddy. Until next year!

Andrew, It is such a privilege to see ones pictures included in this collection, alongside such wonderful work by other Wild Eye guests from the 2016 migration . I find it fascinating, that many of us are often at the same sighting, but all come away from that site with such different ideas and images.
Thank you so much to all involved at Wild-Eye in helping all of us to see the natural world in a different way. Martha, lets do giddy again next year !!
