100 Amazing Images from the Mara, The 2014 Edition

Gerry van der Walt All Authors, Gerry 25 Comments

A little over a year ago we loaded this post which featured 100 images from our 2013 Great Migration season.

Now, a year later, we are looking back at another incredible 8 weeks of Great Migration safaris and if you’ve been following our incredible season through posts on the Wild Eye Facebook page and the trip reports our guys have been sharing, you will know that it was once again an authentic African experience that we shared with our guests.

The photography was amazing but more than that, the Mara once again proved that there is a reason that it is known as one of the best wildlife and photographic destinations on the planet and we again confirmed, both for ourselves and our guests, that we have one of the best offerings when it comes to truly immersing yourself in the greatest wildlife show on earth!

Now that we have wrapped up this incredible season, we again asked the Wild Eye team to share some of their favourite images that they captured on the various trips that they hosted to show you just a small bit of the diversity and magic our guests shared with us during our 2014 season.

The Wild Eye team that hosted safaris this year included:

  • Andrew Beck
  • Marlon du Toit
  • Penny Robartes
  • Morkel Erasmus
  • Jono Buffey
  • Gerry van der Walt

It has been an incredible adventure, we have had some amazing times with our guests and now we are proud to give you the 2014 edition of…

100 Amazing Images from the Masai Mara – The 2014 Edition!

Some amazing shots Wild Eye Team – too many favourites to pick out only one, but if I really had to it would be Marlon’s shot of the leopard springing forward. Great action and vibrant colours. I had an amazing time with Andrew and Penny in August and would happily return to the Mara tomorrow.

I love all the stories I get to experience from the beautiful photography of the Wild Eye team. The photography and teaching y’all give about the wildlife found in Africa are amazing. Keep up the good work! Maybe one day I can join y’all. ~ Judy

The black/white lion from Jono Buffey is my favorite… as if he’s praying to the Lord for help for the wildlife species!
But all the others are beautiful too, just that one gave me this immense feeling!
I will not need to go there if you can show such beautiful images… 😉
    Congratulations and thank you all!

All great images guys – my favourites are the cheetah cubs( of course) esp the one in the rain, the leopard pounce, the dust clouds and slow shutter speeds shots. Well done and thanks for a memorable trip.

Gerry, congratulations to all your team, fantastic set of shots, particularly as you don’t intrude on your guests and you all go out of your stuff way to ensure your guests get the best positions and get their shots first.

Helen an I are busy processing our own photos and to see these bring back great memories. You are right the photos no matter how good are only a small part of what makes the Wild Eye Mara experience so special.

Just waking up every morning on the banks of the Mara knowing another incredible day of wildlife and nature experiences awaited us is something I will never forget.

As you know we spent another 20 days in Africa mainly in Zambia and Botswana and while everyone of these days were s special the 10 days in the Mara were absolutely hands-down the highlight.

Thanks a lot Guy. It was awesome to share the Mara experience with you and Helen and look forward to seeing more of the shots you got in the Mara and during the rest of your African adventure. Take care and please do stay in touch. Until we meet again! 🙂
