The end of another incredible Great Migration safari season during which we shared the magic of the world’s greatest wildlife spectacle with our guests.

We are truly proud of the product that we have been able to create in Kenya and believe that our authentic mobile camp, the location we have right on the bank of the Mara river and our amazing staff all play a part in creating one of the very best value for money safari experiences.  Many operators promise unlimited time in the field, best locations and no hidden costs but we actually deliver and the guest feedback we have been receiving attests to this.

We did it in 20132014, 2015 and in 2016 we have shared 100 Amazing images from our guests.

Now we bring you 100 amazing images from  the team of photographic guides that hosted our various departures earlier this year.

The Wild Eye team that hosted our various safaris this year included:

  • Andrew Beck
  • Gerry van der Walt
  • Marlon du Toit
  • Jono Buffey
  • Johan van Zyl
  • Grant Marcus
  • Morkel Erasmus
  • Chad Cocking
  • Phil Symonds

A huge thanks has to go out to our entire team in Kenya who create the incredible platform from which we have the privilege to create images like this, but more importantly, the lifelong memories that our guests take home with them.

To all the guests who joined us this year, thank you.  I know I speak on behalf of the entire team when I say it was a pleasure and privilege to share one of our favourite parts of Africa with you all!

It has been said that an image is worth a thousands words.  Even if that was true, this wonderful collection of image does not even come close to describing the real thing and experiencing the Great Migration for yourself.  It is Africa in it’s purest form and something that has to be seen to be believed.

Even with the memories of an amazing season still fresh in our minds, we have already turned our attention to next year and bookings for our 2017 Great Migration safaris has already started rolling in.

What a treat! The images that stand out for me:
    1. Andrew:Zebra drinking with motion blur on wildebeest in the background and lions on a rock surrounded by vegetation
    2. Chad: Lioness locked onto a hyena
    3. Jono: Lioness in the mist
    4. Johan: High key zebras
5.Gerry: Zebra drinking as mist rises from the mara river and Giraffe in golden light
    6.Morkel: Fighting leopards, Mara landscape
    7.Grant: Lion mane shake
    8. Marlon: Aerial Zebra, Lion in the rain, Lion silhouette
9.Phil: jackal with termites (Love the B&W conversion) and Roller with grasshopper

Love the way everyone has captured the crossings in a unique way!

Mara is such a unique place. Wall to wall animals, action packed days, fabulous sense of open spaces….
Having said that, give me an image from Mana any day!
