If you follow my Instagram feed you will know that I was in Madikwe last week with two private guided clients.
The various products we have been able to create in Madikwe is without a doubt the very best photographic safaris and workshops available in this beautiful reserve in the North West province of South Africa.
This is due to a couple of unique factors which includes a non-commercial private lodge which offers complete photographic freedom, one of the most passionate and hard working guides I have had the privilege of working with and our Wild Eye ethos that a photo safari or workshop should be about our clients getting their images and improving their photography. This last point might seem quite obvious, and it should be, but there are unfortunately still many photographic guides who host safaris in order to get their shots and that’s just wrong.
The below images from Grant, Nancy and Phil will give you an idea of some of the amazing sightings we shared during our week in Madikwe during which we spent a huge amount of time out in the field.
Even though Grant gets to photograph the wildlife in Madikwe on a daily basis he is still just as passionate about his photography and getting out into the field as he was when I met him in Madikwe almost 10 years ago. Nancy, who only moved away from shooting in Auto last six months ago during a Great Migration safari, has been creating wonderful images – very proud of her. Phil and I have shared some amazing African adventures – with some more hardcore trips lined up – and the way he explores the more creative side of wildlife photography is always great to work with.
Last week was amazing and just reminded me why I spent almost 7 years working in this wonderful reserve and it’s a privilege to be able to share this with guests.
