An Update from Kenya: A land of Diversity

So we are halfway through our journey in Kenya and it has been an incredible journey so far. Our itinerary is by no means your “typical” Kenyan itinerary as we are trying to share as much of the country with our guests over a very short space of time. As I sit here on the shores of Lake Elmenteita (at one of the most beautiful lodges I have visited in Kenya – Lake Elmenteita Lodge), we have already covered a lot of distance in just 3 short days.

Our first night took us to the forests of Mount Kenya and Serena Mountain Lodge whilst the second night was spent on the open plains of Ol-Pajeta Conservancy at Sweetwaters Tented Camp. 3 Nights, 3 destinations, one word to sum up our experience so far: Diversity. Not sure what I mean, here’s one image from each of the three destinations.

Kenya is an incredibly diverse country and the destinations above reflect just a tiny portion of this magical place. Tomorrow we head to what is considered by many as the jewel in the crown of the Kenyan Safari Circuit – The Masai Mara.

Although the great migration has not yet arrived in the Mara, there is still an incredible amount of game to be seen and I can’t wait to get back there!

You can follow me on twitter and instagram as I share images from my iPhone on this safari, and be sure to follow the team from Serena Hotels to get a better idea of the various other destinations they have on offer!
