Last week’s #beinspiredby theme was My Favourite Image. A pretty open theme, it was indeed an exciting one for me as not only was it a very personal one, but it let me ‘see’ more about you through your images and ‘know’ more about you as I got to read your special memories, and that is pretty great!
This was a hard theme to chose a Top 5 from, but I am sure that you will enjoy the following collection of images.

“With the digital age, it’s difficult to get something “different”. We wake up early to chase the golden light, and get back to camp at gate close to make the most of it in the afternoon. I have been inspired by a few photographs I have seen taken in “poor” conditions. For over 2 years I have been trying to get a decent photo of any animal in the rain or mist, and have just not had the chance to do so based on the scenes presented. I spend very little time in the bush, but when this scene presented itself in the KTP last month, during a downpour of no more than 2 minutes, we were fortunate to find this as we rounded a corner returning to camp with almost no time to spare. With a few seconds, and no time to understand these conditions I did the best I could. I do believe I could have done better, but it is my favourite image due to being inspired by others to take images vastly different to anything I have taken before. Now to get that large male Lion shaking his mane in the rain….”

“I love sunrise, especially when I’m fortunate enough to be out in the bush. I took this particular shot in Sabi Sand earlier this year and I love the mixture of light, mist, contrast and the Goliath heron wading in the river.”

“Well it’s impossible to have just one favourite image, but here is a ‘current favourite’ of sorts. This was taken at a large gannet colony, surrounded by ocean which meant I could play around with my shutter speed to get the movement in the water and the patterns if the splash on the dark rocks at sunset.”

“My guests and I were treated to an amazing sighting of a young male leopard killing a warthog in front of our vehicle. Enjoy and Wild Dreams.”

“Very hard to choose a favourite image but this is one of my favourites at the moment at least partially because I have been wanting to get a Giraffe Sunset picture for a while! What I like about it is that it feels like “Classic Africa” to me – the colours, the iconic giraffe silhouette at sunset, the beauty of an Okavango Delta sunset.”

Well there it is and I hope that you enjoyed the memories above!
Remember to keep an eye out Friday for the next #beinspiredby theme.
