I have enjoyed paging through some of my older images as of late. This particular one has always stood out for me.
You can create powerful images by thinking about what it is you want to convey. Have a look at the scene surrounding your subject.
Are there any stunning trees? Lovely clouds in the sky? Sometimes you may have to move a little left or right in order to frame better. In the image above I deliberately waited for the lion to look up towards me. I did not expect him to peer out into the distance through the actual bones, but it added hugely to the shot. It conveys the raw nature of feeding lions perfectly.
It helps to be in the right place at the right time, but it also helps to be ready to capture the opportunity when it presents itself.
