Welcome to April!

The first quarter of the year is history.

I just had a quick read through my first 2012 post and so far so good.  My goal was, and still is, to focus on a number of themes with which I could approach my photography, relationships and life in general.  It has not been all that easy as it has been crazy busy at times but even when I sit down I really cannot find anything to complain about.  That being said I am looking forward to the upcoming long weekend to catch up with a number of personal errands and just to kick back to do a mini-stock take of sorts.

Anyway, back to the reason for this post – the free desktop and iPad wallpaper downloads for April 2012!

As always each of the six wallpapers are available in two sizes.  The large versions are sized at 2560 x 1600 and small ones at 1280 x 800.  To download your favorite wallpaper, without the frames, simply use the text links below the image of your choice, right click on the image once it has finished loading and that’s it!

If you’re not sure how to add the wallpaper to your desktop background simply leave a comment and we’ll help you out!

On a recent trip to the South African West Coast we stopped for a coffee just outside of Cape Town where the iconic Table Mountain made for a perfect wallpapers image.

Wallpaper #2 – April 2012

Nikon D3s, 600mm, 1/500, f/4.5, ISO 1,000

Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, South Africa

Bright, overcast conditions are great for wildlife photography.  On our recent photo safari to the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park we found this Black Backed Jackal foraging around.  The soft, dreamy light and colorful vegetation made for a very dreamy image.

Wallpaper #3 – April 2012

Nikon D3s, 600mm, 1/1,250, f/4, ISO 1,000

Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, South Africa

Another image from an overcast morning in the Kgalagadi.  This young male was walking towards a brother so we moved around and and waited for him to walk towards us.  A slight morning breeze added just a little bit of movement to the lion’s mane finishing off the image.

If you have been to the Kgalagadi you will know that the light in that part of the world is spectacular.  On this particular day a massive storm was brewing as the sun was slowly setting making for a fantastic Kalahari scene.

While sitting with a family of cheetah this Tawny Eagle did a slow and graceful fly by.  The late afternoon light was stunning and made for great photography.

iPad Wallpaper #2 – April 2012

Nikon D3s, 600mm, 1/20, f/22, ISO 100

Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, South Africa

The Kgalagadi is known for it’s cats but it’s the general game that completes the story.  When we visited in March we saw  massive herds of Springbuck and Oryx.  Absolutely great to see them in such large numbers and makes for great photographic opportunities.
