Five Images from Svalbard

The term ‘wilderness’ is one that is used quite frequently but there is a magical place at the top of the world that truly defines the word.  The Svalbard Islands are located in the Arctic Ocean, halfway between Norway and the North Pole.  Here you will find untouched arctic wilderness.

Trying to choose just five images feels almost impossible and as if I am disrespecting the diverse beauty of this white world.

I have been lucky enough to travel to the Arctic circle for two years running now, and will be heading back to Svalbard in a few weeks time, so for this post I thought I’d share a few images of the wildlife superstars you could expect to see and photograph in Svalbard.

There are few places in the world that can match the sheer beauty and overwhelming visual impact of this place.

I feel truly privileged to have another opportunity to experience Svalbard along with a small group  of fellow photographers and adventurers.

It is in a word, breathtaking.

Until next time.
