From Paternoster to Hout Bay

This last weekend I traveled to Paternoster on the West Coast of South Africa to attend and photograph the wedding of great friends from my time in Madikwe.

It’s amazing how a few days can feel like so much more and it was a welcome break from work related travel.

The wedding took place on the beach on Saturday afternoon – a truly fantastic setting – so we had a little bit of time to look around Paternoster before and after the event (which included a day trip to Cape Town and Hout Bay).   I shot the wedding with a D3s and D700 but during my ‘off’ time I spend a lot of time shooting with my iPhone and posting to Instagram.

Now I am flying back to Johannesburg on Monday morning so I will be posting the latest Photo Chat video to the site later this week when I get back to the office but in the meantime you can check out some of my Instagram photos from the weekend here.

I am continually amazed at the power of social media not only for how it connects people but also for how easy it makes to share your images.  More than that, it makes you look for images in a whole different way but that’s a discussion for another day!

I’ll be back later this week with the latest Photo Chat video in which we’ll take a look at time lapse videos, and how to shoot them, so make sure to check back soon.  For now, look me up on Twitter and Instagram and let the sharing continue!

Until next time.
