Mana Pools. How to describe a place like this?

I will let my pictures do it.

The first night, we were sitting at the dinner table under millions of stars when a lioness suddenly appeared out of the darkness. She walked gently past our camp.
Only a few moments later we heard a buffalo being taken down by some lionesses. The rest of that first night we were accompanied by  noises of growling lions, jackal and hyena’s.

And that was only the first night…

Look at the other pictures to discover why Mana Pools is famous for its amazing light in the magical forest.

Every day during lunch time we had elephants walking between our tents. One day a big bull took a nap next to one of the tents. This made for some great detail shots.

One picture we really wanted to get was a backlit image of some elephants. On the very last evening we decided to stay with a group of bulls and try our luck. After a few hours on foot with them the sun started to set.
