Photographic Expeditions
At Wild Eye we are passionate about visual experiences and it is this passion that is at the heart of all our Photographic Expeditions.
Our expeditions are designed for everybody - from seasoned enthusiasts to first time photographers and our goal is always to make sure you have the very best opportunity to create images that will capture the beauty of the experience.
During the entire journey you will be joined by our photographic facilitators who will not only be there to assist with whatever photographic questions you might have but also to personally manage all the travel and accommodation logistics to ensure you can focus on your own photographic experience.
Our expedition destinations have all been chosen for the visual and photographic opportunities they present and when combined with comfortable accommodation and enthusiastic facilitators you can be assured that a Wild Eye Photographic Expedition will be an adventure to remember.

A photographic safari sounds very glamorous but yet its all about learning!
I spent a few days in Madikwe with Gerry van der Walt and it was a serious eye opener, literally, to realize that any photographer can still learn something new each time you go out there. It was also very rewarding to see the same subjects but each photographer creating a different picture with it.
We were fortunate to have our own safari vehicle at our disposal and what a different and special experience to have people on the vehicle with the same passion for photography. We spoke the same 'language' and no time was wasted in our quest of getting the perfect shot!
If you want value for money you need to be open for criticism, both positive and negative, and try something new - like I photographed the stars for the first time ever.
I believe a photographer is also an artist in his/her own right, having the "eye" to create something with the camera, but one can easily get stuck in a certain "style" of photography. This photo safari certainly took the "shutters" off my eyes!!! It was great to get some feedback from fellow photographers and ultimately from Gerry being the expert. Having the right equipment and trying out some amazing lenses was ultimately the highlight of my safari. Its not often that one gets an opportunity to "test drive" the "rolls royce" of lenses... amazing!
Thanks again to Gerry and the Wild Eye team. I can certainly recommend a photo safari with you guys to any aspiring photographer out there.

I want to thank you again for the time we spent together, capturing pictures of what your great country has to offer. It was an amazing experience and life changing too.
Coming from New York City my entire life, you just don’t realize the beauty of the wild animals in South Africa. My wife and I could not have thought of a better place to visit on our vacation. We look are looking forward to the next time we can visit South Africa.
Spending the day with you was the highlight of my trip. Beyond some of the camera gear that I brought and rented, spending time together allowed me to take my photography skills to the next level. What sticks out in my mind the most is that you continually challenged me throughout the day. Always asking me about composition, camera setting, providing feedback for what makes a great shot and so on.
Your Lightroom assistance was greatly needed too. It’s amazing when I look at the picture’s I took before we spent time together and then the shots after we were together, it’s like a night and day difference.
Thanks again for giving me your time and looking forward to the next trip with you.
