If Only She Looked Up

I have a photographic voice in my head that never shuts up.

In the field it is relentless.

It keeps on questioning, doubting, wondering, asking.

Guess it’s a normal part of the photographic process as it keeps you on your toes.  Perhaps we should worry when that voice does not say anything when we’re are out in the field?

The interesting thing is – and I have had it a lot the last while while working through old images and new Lightroom processes – that my photographic voice doesn’t stop once I click the shutter.

It keeps going.

It keeps on questioning, doubting, wondering, asking.

Even after having processed this old image from 3 years ago my photographic voice did not stop.

I was quite happy with the result as the light was pretty much gone and I was pushing seriously high ISO’s.

During the process my photographic voice kept questioning, asking, wondering, doubting – most of it revolving around the amount and balance  of noise reduction versus sharpening and colour tones in the image.

When I finally saved the image and sat back to look at the result… yeah, still that little photographic voice did not shut up.

Sometimes you have to listen to this voice and sometimes you should just ignore it.

Sometimes it will give you great advise and other times it will just confuse you and make you doubt yourself.

The last comment my photographic voice left me with when I looked at this image was one I decided to ignore as I love this image but on the other hand it did leave me thinking.

The last thing my photographic voice said to me was…

If only she looked up…

Until next time.

No Gerry, leave your brain to rest! That is one stunning of the lioness & her cubs. There is so much tension in her eye that you have captured & the message from the little cub is clear – beware!!!!

    Beautiful picture <3
