Description

“One of the oldest dreams of mankind is to find a dignity that include all living things. A way to do this is to pay attention to what occurs in a land untouched by human schemes, where an original order prevails.

As I moved through the Arctic I thought often about a rhythm indigenous to this land, not imposed on it. The imposed view, however innocent, always obscures. The evidence that there is a different rhythm of life here seemed inescapably a part of the expressions of the animals I encountered, though I cannot say precisely why. A coherent view of the pervasiveness of such a rhythm is elusive.”  ~ Barry Lopez, Arctic Dreams

* * *

Nothing can prepare you for Svalbard.  It is the Arctic North as you always dreamed it existed.  An icy wonder-world, a scenery so thrillingly different to anything else you’ve ever experienced.

It is an wild wilderness at the top of the world – home to arctic foxes, reindeer, seals walrus and an array of unique birdlife. This is however not the exclusive reason for traveling to the end of the world.  Polar Bears – the giants of the land!

Continuously threatened by climate change & other environmental factors, Polar Bears are a species that are in need of every bit of exposure they can get.

Polar Bears are undoubtedly at the top of the agenda, but Arctic Foxes, reindeer, seals, walrus and fantastic birding make for a life-changing experience.
