I often gets asked, “what exactly do you do?”
I am sure for most of you who frequently read the blogs or follow the team & I on the various social platforms will know the answer to the question above. Your following & engagement is truly appreciated!
To those of you that are new to the Wild Eye blog &/or our social feeds, WELCOME to the Wild Eye Community!!!
The question often asked is a tough one to answer with words. A short and sweet version will be, I am a specialist photographic safari guide.
With 4 years of “lodge based guiding” experience in world renowned areas such as the Sabi Sand & Timbavati Private Game Reserve’s, I have not only gained abundant knowledge of the environment but also acquired brilliant people skills.
Today I host guests on safari & get to share very special moments with them in spectacular game reserves. I love teaching them not only about the Forna & Flora but I also show them how to use their cameras to its fullest.
My love & passion for what I do & for the places I visit makes it very easy for me to share my knowledge of the wide range of fauna and flora but also to share my photography knowledge to ensure that my guests can capture that special moment for eternity. Capturing those unique moments out in the field are one of the most thrilling experiences, knowing that you are sharing that space with the wild animals, earning their trust, documenting their beauty and behavior, one cannot deny the fact that it is a very unique feeling and worth the experience time and time again.
I am proud to say that I play a small role in my guests achieving their dreams & so I also play a role in changing the way they see the world!
I do hope that this makes sense? In saying this, I have also put together a short video which should back my answer;
I am haunted by the allure of spectacular wildlife and African sunsets. I am a hunter-gatherer of natural light and candid moments, an appetite whet with a taste of the unknown and the smell of home; “This Is Africa”!
That’s it, this is who I am & what I do. Something special happens deep in the heart of the wilderness, so come and join me! Experience the wonders of the African bush!
I would love to host you on a safari one day soon!
