Wildlife photography should NOT be about:

– Attitude

– Ego

– Winning

– Competing

– Equipment

– Lenses

– What Camera You’re Using

– Photoshop

– Lightroom

– Processing

– Sharpening

– Being selfish

– Copying other people

– The ‘Likes’ you get

– Getting online ‘views’

– Awards

– Getting published

– Compromising your subjects

– Impatience

– Baiting animals

– Impressing people

The list can go on and on so please free to add your own thoughts in the comments below.

More important than what wildlife photography should not be is what is SHOULD be.  Check out my list here.

Until next time.

This actually applies – or should apply – to all types of photography. Photography is firstly, and most importantly, about your subject, and there is nothing worse than lack of passion in a picture. If you don’t feel it, don’t click it.

Absolutely agree, although I have from time to time fallen foul to odd one. My personal peeve is photographers begging people to vote, like and follow….I know its the inherent of social media but if the work is good enough the people will come…
Cheers for a great blog Gerry..
